Born at the heart of Liberia and forged through the harrowing storms of civil war, Francis B. Akoi transformed personal tragedy into purpose. He was orphaned as a child when his loved ones succumbed to the failing health care system in his country, so he set out to bring into existence what the country desperately needed: a place of healing, dignity, and hope.
Francis now lives in the U.S. with his family and leads Grace Cares Initiative Inc. with unwavering commitment. Every day, the story inspires our underlying work and continues to transform lives across Monrovia.

Healthcare is actually considered a human right by Grace Cares. This means that we support Grace Health Center in Liberia for the treatment and care of underprivileged people. We cater to the underserved communities, who require good medical care but lack funds. People come in here for treatment from mild sickness to emergency admissions for the vulnerable, forgotten, and neglected
Accesses basic health care provision like outpatient treatment, wound care, malaria diagnosis, infection control, and so on. Our clinic will never turn away anyone for lack of funds or resources.
Healthy moms mean healthy families. We offer prenatal checkups, delivery assistance, postnatal follow-up, and child vaccinations to reduce preventable deaths and improve long-term well-being for both mother and baby.
We treat illness as well as prevent it. Our outreach programs spread the word on hygiene, nutrition, maternal health, malaria prevention, and common diseases to empower individuals to be able to safeguard their families.
